When we think about family photography, how often do our thoughts go to those perfectly posed images of our family at a super stellar outdoor location. The sun is setting and we have that amazing backlit golden hour glow. Every member of the family is dressed to perfection, and behaving perfectly, while looking and smiling their best smile at the camera?
Is that really how your real life looks day in and day out? Is that an honest presentation of family life? I know it’s no where near how my family looks on the daily.
What Is Documentary Photography
Documentary photography is simple. It’s an honest and accurate visual representation of what is happening in the present moment. There are no staged or posed images. It’s visual storytelling in its purest form. It’s me, as a photographer, walking alongside you and observing you in a respectful manner to tell your story honestly and artfully.
How It Can Benefit You
Do you loath traditional family photos? It’s too much work and always stressful? Documentary photography might be a better choice. You don’t have the stress of dressing everyone. And you don’t have the stress of worrying about behavior on picture day. Everyone is simply encouraged to be themselves. The best part is that I join you in some of your most familiar places; your home, favorite park, any place that everyone feels most comfortable. I’m a friend, observing you just as you are, creating images that tell your family’s unique story. Family images that cannot be duplicated. It takes out all the stress and replaces it with magical images you’ll cherish for a lifetime.
