Oh, hey there! Just wanted to put a face to a name. I`m Beth, owner of Real Life Photo Co. A Denver, Colorado based independent school portrait company.

When I`m not working my "real" job, my other "real" job is taking care of the 5 people I love the most in this world; my husband and 4 kids ages 8 to 18. Each of whom keep us plenty busy with all their activities (if you know, you know).

When I happen to get a little time to myself I can often be found reading, taking a walk, working in the garden, cooking or baking something yummy, or hanging out with our frenchie pup, Ryno.

It`s hard to believe that my journey into school portrait photography started 10 years ago! Back then I was only serving a handful of schools. Things have grown leaps and bounds since then. Adding new schools to our family every year and working with an amazing group of women that support my mission. I love my job and the schools we get to partner with. It`s been a thrill to watch my dream of creating better picture day for schools and their students a reality.

Wow! Over the last few weeks I feel like our industry has really been tested. We`ve had to revisit our workflows and practices, all because others made horrendous choices. It`s been a little heavy and a little stressful.

We have done our due diligence and can say with confidence that all the systems we use for school picture day are safe and secure.

Working with a small, locally owned school portrait company has its advantages. It has to mean something that keeping your student safe in this digital world keeps us awake at night and makes us look at every part of our business under a microscope to make sure that we do not fail you.

We are parents too, so we understand the scrutiny when it comes to protecting our kids. We want what`s best for you and your students. We go above and beyond to make sure your students images and data are safe.

Running your own business has its challenges. I’m going into this fall season feeling a little shaky. If I’m completely honest, I’ve questioned if this work is truly what I’m supposed to keep doing. If it really matters.

Then I’m reminded of the impact we’ve had on our schools. Just yesterday I was at one of my favorite little schools with a HUGE heart, Humanex Academy. I was reminded how much this work impacts students and their families for the good and it pushes me to keep going.

So thankful for their continued trust and encouragement. And looking forward to sharing this year’s batch of images with their families.
