Location Series: Sterne Park

One of the most important steps in creating an amazing photo session is choosing the right location. It needs to reflect who you are as well as not be too distracting to the overall look of your photos. In this blog series we’ll explore some of my favorite locations. I’ll share with you some of the location’s features and how it might best serve you in your photography experience.

Location Highlights

Sterne Park is located east of downtown Littleton. It’s a small park that features many trees and shrubs, a duck pond, a bridge, as well as an adjacent rose garden. While it’s small, it’s not hard to find quiet spots with beautiful backdrops. There are restrooms, which any parent will love, as well as a new large playground for some family fun after the session.

Peak Season

I would say that the park’s peak seasons are spring, summer, and fall. This is a park that I turn to in spring to deliver the brilliant greens of spring grass and newly budding trees. During the summer the adjacent rose garden is in bloom and it drips with golden light late in the day. And in the fall the leaves pop with bold and brilliant colors.

Why I Love It

I love this park because it’s small and intimate, yet it’s packed with so many good elements for undistracting backdrops. I has a fun small city park feel and it’s very well maintained all year long.
